Rooted in the Ukrainian tradition of Brodivske Pysmo, Encoded Intention is a creative method that transforms meaningful words into geometric ornaments.
Rather than belonging to one nationality, it is an invitation to explore a rich cultural tradition through creativity, symbolism, and mindful making.
What is Encoded Intention?
1. Choose your intention.
Start by deciding what you want to express. Then choose the word that best represents your intention.
2. Transform the word into an ornament.
Each letter has its own geometric symbol. Instead of writing the word, you draw it by replacing every letter with its graphic form.
3. Follow the composition rules.
Arrange the symbols using the principles of the Center and the Cross, which form the foundation of the method.
The complete method is described in the Stitched IN guide.
